UH-OH! AT THE MOMENT, THERE ARE NO TOURS AVAILABLE FOR SKY LAGOON
High demand, seasonal availability and unexpected closures can be the reason. We're working on getting it up and running. Meanwhile, you can search for other activities on our website. We don’t want you to leave disappointed!
The word geothermal comes from the Greek words for earth (geo) and heat (thermos). Geothermal energy was first used some 2000 years ago by the Chinese. You'll find plenty of volcanoes, oh, and hot springs in Iceland. In fact, 87% of the country's homes are heated using geothermal energy.
If you want to watch the sun setting, then the evening is your best time. It is less crowded and you might be lucky to catch some other natural phenomena. Although there is no guarantee of that. That also means heading to Iceland during the winter months, so wrap up warm!
You'll find that most tours will offer hotel pick-up or a transfer from a central location. Check your tour for full details and return bus timings.
You can spot key Icelandic landmarks from Sky Lagoon including Keilir, Fagradalsfjall, Bessastaðir, and Snæfellsjökull glacier.
The temperature of Sky Lagoon is approximately 37 to 40 degrees Celsius. It is recommended to stay for 1.5 to 2 hours in the lagoon.
There are private as well as shared showers in the changing rooms. Towels are provided free of cost.
